The pullets are golden red with white in neck, wings, and tail. Cockerels are mostly white with red in neck, wings, and tail. Being a small-bodied bird, it consumes less feed but produces more eggs. Extremely cold hearty the Golden Red can lay year-round anywhere in the country. Pullets start laying around 16-18 weeks and peak at 26 weeks.

Freedom Ranger
These fantastic chicks grow 5 to 6 pounds in only 10 weeks. They are in very high demand with organic and free-range growers for their outstanding leg strength and vigor. Great alternative to fast-growing white broiler chicks and slow-growing heritage breeds. These active, robust chickens are suitable for free-ranging, foraging, and pasturing. Let customers speak for us
from 95 reviewsI've been a customer for 10+ years. They've always had the healthiest birds I've ever had shipped! Great prices and excellent customer service too!
Golden Red
We are so appreciative that you Extra chicks. Everyone is alive and well and growing strong. We were so pleased with the packaging and health of the birds
I ordered 35 freedom rangers to be delivered mid-April. Nowhere else I tried had any available until late in the year/next year, but Reich’s had them available and they showed up exactly when we wanted them. They also let you order exactly how many birds you want (the hatchery we got them from last year only let you order in increments of 25,) and they were very reasonably priced.
We received 36 chicks 2 days after they hatched, and they are all doing excellently. They’re growing fast and seem in perfect health.
We loved our freedom rangers last year! They were super easy to keep(we have a “chicken tractor” we pull around the pasture), and were very healthy, strong birds. They have a great quality of meat, and were between 6lbs(females) and 8lbs(males) in 10 wks. Can’t wait to restock the freezer with this batch!
Thank you, Reich’s Poultry!
I received my order, all chicks arrived healthy and alive.. 100% Satisfied.
Thanks Reich's Poultry.. I've already got my September Chicks Ordered..
best chicken for eating!!
Very pleased with my order. 20 ordered, 21 received, all are healthy and thriving. Will definitely order again!
We ordered 30 Cornish Cross chicks straight run and we received 31 and all survived the shipping process. It's been two weeks and we have not lost any to health issues. We are very satisfied with our purchase and look forward to buying from you again.
This was our first time using a hatchery. We’ve always just used local, but this year was proving to be almost impossible to find what we were looking for. All the birds came in looking beautiful and healthy. We will definitely be using Reich’s Poultry again in the future!
Ordered 25 freedom rangers feb 13 for ship date April 7 they were shipped April 7 I live in southern Indiana and received them April 9 at 6 am . Very pleased with there condition then and now, they are doing well. Will definitely order from Reich’s poultry again. THANKS
These birds came looking so healthy and not one has died. I will order from Reich's Poultry in the future.
My first experience ordering from Reich’s, it has been great. Birds are healthy and beautiful and shopping was fast!
I have been order chick's for a while and every single shipment I would have at least half of the chick's dead and then loose another quarter in the following days. Reich's Poultry is the first time I received 100% alive and strong and didn't loose any. By far the best and hands down will continue doing business. Thank you all for sending such strong healthy birds! Keep up the great work!
First time ordering from online and very satisfied. Will be ordering again in the near future.
Ordered 20 freedom rangers with delivery set for the week of 4/7. Received 21 happy, healthy fluff balls on Tuesday, 4/8, who traveled from Reich’s all the way to south of Houston.
