The pullets are golden red with white in neck, wings, and tail. Cockerels are mostly white with red in neck, wings, and tail. Being a small-bodied bird, it consumes less feed but produces more eggs. Extremely cold hearty the Golden Red can lay year-round anywhere in the country. Pullets start laying around 16-18 weeks and peak at 26 weeks.

from 126 reviewsAll 75 birds came in alive and well and have only lost 5 so far in the first 2 days and none after so I will be ordering again next year.
Golden Red
We ordered 20 straight run Freedom Ranger broilers and received 22. It took only 27 hours for them to travel from Pennsylvania to Washington State. They arrived alive and very strong. Two weeks later, they are all still healthy and thriving.
Never have I ordered chicks and NOT had a casualty. All 140 chicks were healthy and very lively. Definitely will be my new place to order from!
I’ve been getting them the last three years.
I couldn’t be happier with them, great egg production and haven’t lost any chicks.
So far they are growing well and we haven't lost any chicks.
Chicks doing great. Got them very quickly.
Freedom Ranger
Thank you
Birds arrived all alive and in great shape. Happy with my order, thanks
Great healthy birds. We had an unfortunate incident with the post office suffocating some of our chicks. The next week we received replacements. All the chicks are doing great!
We have been raising meat chickens for the past 5 years and this is the very first time we had all of the birds arrive alive AND haven't lost any! They looked great upon arrival. They were sluggish or looking close to death. Meat chickens often just look rough from the beginning but not these birds! They looked strong from day one! We will process them in July so I'm anxious to see if they all make it! For sure will be purchasing our next year birds from here again.
Excellent birds and service thank you
Birds arrived on time and all alive. Progressing nicely, starting to show feathers and growing well.
Day 9 since I received my 25 Cornish Cross. Haven’t lost one yet. They looked very healthy and shipping was great!
